03. Kimchi Stew


Korean name : KIMCHI JJIGAE[gimchi jjige]

Serves :  3

Ingredient :
-Bite sized Kimchi(0.7 lbs/300g)
-Chopped pork(0.2 lbs/100g)
-Sliced green onion(0.07 lbs / 30g or ½ pc)
-Sliced onion(1/2 EA)
-Minced garlic(1 Table spoon)
-Water(17oz/500ml)
-Sesame seed oil(1 T/S)
-Option : Tofu(0.1lbs/50g) Korean red chili powder(1 T/S), soup stock(1/2 T/S)

How to cook
1. In a skillet, stir-fry the pork, garlic, onion, sesame oil & Kimchi for 1 min.   
    (If you have, add chili powder.)

2. Add water & green onion to it and boil for 10mins at least.

3. Done!

Tips) 
1. Adding a half spoon of soup stock will double up the flavor of stew.
2. Tuna can be substituted for the pork and you can try 2 different flavors of Kimchi stews.
3. If you can buy fresh Tofu, you can put it in the stew 5 mins prior to complete cooking.
4. It's good to add ramen noodle or glass noodle to the stew.

5. When chopping Kimchi on a board, you'd better put a plastic bag or wrap 
   not to stain the board with Kimchi juice.
